Twitter List

@joeschmitt wrote this great list and set the bar for pimping folks out for #followfriday.  I was all set this morning to put up my list which I will do, but frankly most of my favorites have come from checking out his recommendations!

Here are my favs in no certain order:

@wood - a funny man i’ve known since before Twitter (god, was there life before Twitter?)

@penbleth - a recommendation from @wood that turned out to be well worth the follow.

@joeschmitt - the best pimp on Twitter - if he’s pimping you out, you should raise your rates.

@rsmallbone - Warning: do not read his tweets in meetings unless you want to explain yourself to all the other attendees and if you do, LIE!

@srslainey - I am pretty sure in a fight between her and “Ripley”, she would win.

@adamisacson - He’s the EF Hutton of Twitter - Everybody listens

@toldorknown

@tony_d

@lukeinvan

@byx

@luckyshirt

@texburgher

@3hoss

There, with that done, I can go back to people watching at Starbucks.

It’s been a busy week with the whole power outage to the data center and what not. I probably have other things I should be doing while at work. But it’s #FollowFriday. I can’t resist. It’s like getting to meet new people without the uncomfortable awkwardness of being a geeky introvert.  I’m really into it today.  I need a distraction from the stress of this past week.  I was just about to submit a post in Tweetie when my boss plops down in my cubicle.  I turned several shades of red. This was right there in the middle of my screen.  BUSTED!

Personal Space

She’s practically licking him from across the table and he’s all talking to her breasts. Neither notices the other’s actions as they’re both acting on pheromones and instinct rather than actual communication. Either way, I wanted the table next to them which is by a power outlet. My Mac is getting thirsty and in need so I did the only thing I could do- moved next to them.  You could just feel the tension.  (Bet he’s not gettin’ any tonight. Not now anyway.)  I however am getting juiced up and not the least bit bothered by their posturing. Within minutes of me changing seats they left. I love it!

That’s the power of being an inconsiderate bastard!

i’m such a geek

though i think i’m late to the party these days. there was a time i was on the edge of things trying out new tools and programs. i had the latest gadgets or tried to but three kids later and well my budget is a bit short.

i got a macbook from work. it’s great. i mean really great. between vmware at work and fusion on the macbook, i’ve woken up again. i’m trying new things, reaching out into areas i hadn’t bothered before. i’m really getting my head out of the IT sand. maybe i’ll never be the super hacker some guys are but i’m not too bad for old guy.

i stood up tversity on old laptop i had hanging around. it’s an IBM G40 with a gig of RAM and a 40 gig hard drive.  it’s enough to power for what i want to do. i am serving up some files to my xbox360 over wireless.

what I would really like to do is mod my old xbox and use it to its full potential. there seems to be a lot of options if you have the right combination of firmware and mod chip. i bought the xbox to play with though i told the wife i wanted it to play those games that the 360 wouldn’t.  i had inadvertently purchased a few so it was not much of a stretch.

if you like anime, may i recommend bleach and my daughter says deathnote is another great anime, though i cannot get into it.

honestly i watch anime to do something with my daughter. it’s a way she and i connect. we are so opposite in many ways it is tough to find things in common. she loves horses. i love technology. she likes to be outside, i like to stay indoors. you get the picture. as long as the anime is not too cartoonish then i’ll watch it but cross that line and i’m no longer interested.

something to be thankful for: macs, anime and hugs from my kiddos.
